The Heart Path is open to everyone. The Fire Path is for people who have been on retreat with us before, or who know Huachuma or Peyote well. Both run ten nights, and the first date is arrival and the last is departure.

Per person. On the Heart Path, a shared room is $3,800, a private single $4,800, a bungalow or premium suite $5,200, or $4,800 each for a couple sharing a bungalow or suite. The Fire Path is $200 more on each. A $500 deposit holds your place once your application is accepted.

We take nine people to high altitude, in a country far from your doctor, so we read this part most carefully. Three questions here are required and the rest are up to you. What you write is read only by the people running the program, and no single answer rules you out.

Preparation and support

One question here is optional, and one we need an answer to.

What self work are you engaged in, and what support will you have at home?

Therapy, meditation, breath work, yoga, movement, somatic work, prayer, twelve step, anything that counts for you. We run four integration sessions afterward, and we also like to know you will have support at home.

Will you commit to the preparation we ask for? (Required)

Preparation may include a modified diet, eliminating certain substances, stepping back from some commercial products, and a period away from news and social media. You get detailed instructions well in advance. If you already know you cannot do it, answer no and we will talk.

Do you hold a passport valid for entry into Peru?

United States passport holders do not need a visa for Peru. Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates or you can be refused entry. Renewals take time, so it helps to know early.

Travel and medical insurance. We recommend it. We do not require it and we do not provide it. Coverage that includes emergency medical treatment and evacuation is worth having at altitude, in a country your policy at home may not reach. Whatever you decide, medical and evacuation costs are yours.

Deposits and payments. A $500 deposit holds your place once your application is accepted, whichever room you choose. Nothing is owed before then. Half of the balance remaining after the deposit is due two months before departure and the other half one month before. Everything paid is refunded in full if we cancel, and refunded if you withdraw and your place is taken by another accepted applicant. Deposits and payments are otherwise not refundable. Retreat Release and Agreement (Required)

Retreat Release and Agreement

The Retreat and its dates. This agreement is made in respect of the retreat session for which Participant has applied, being ten days in the Sacred Valley of Peru and including two full days of ceremony on the mountain. The dates of that session are the dates published by Organizer for it at the time this application is submitted. Exact dates are confirmed to Participant in writing on acceptance.

I (hereafter referred to as "Participant") hereby acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions in consideration for the opportunity to participate in the retreat described above (hereafter referred to as the "Retreat") organized by Huachuma Works LLC, a limited liability company registered in Arizona, United States, and wholly owned by the Huachuma Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation also registered in Arizona, and by Hamid Jabbar and Miguel Mendiburu (hereafter collectively referred to as "Organizer").

Risk Acknowledgment. Participant acknowledges that participating in the Retreat involves inherent risks, including but not limited to risks of accidents, injuries, illness, death, or loss or damage to personal property, that may be caused by the actions or inactions of other participants, third parties, or the Organizer, or by other factors beyond the control of the Organizer. Participant understands that such risks may be heightened by travel to foreign countries, including risks related to acts of government or war, or protests, and by activity at high altitude.

Release and Waiver of Liability. Participant hereby releases and forever discharges the Organizer, the Huachuma Foundation, and their respective owners, officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates (collectively, "Releasees"), from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, damages, losses, liabilities, or expenses (including attorneys' fees and costs) that may arise out of or in connection with Participant's participation in the Retreat, including but not limited to any claims for personal injury, illness, loss of income, or death, or for loss or damage to personal property. This release and waiver of liability applies regardless of the cause of such claims or losses, including negligence or other fault of any of the Releasees.

Indemnification. Participant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Releasees from any and all liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses (including attorneys' fees and costs) that may arise out of or in connection with Participant's participation in the Retreat, including but not limited to any claims brought by third parties related to Participant's actions or omissions. This includes Participant's damage to property.

Medical Disclosure. Participant represents that the health, medication, and mental health information provided in this application is complete and accurate to the best of Participant's knowledge, and agrees to notify Organizer promptly in writing of any material change before departure. Participant understands that Organizer is not a licensed medical or mental health provider, that nothing offered in connection with the Retreat is medical treatment, diagnosis, or advice, and that Organizer may decline or withdraw Participant's participation at any time if Organizer believes participation would be unsafe.

Medical and Travel Insurance. Organizer does not provide, arrange, or require medical or travel insurance. Organizer recommends that Participant obtain coverage adequate for international travel at high altitude, including emergency evacuation, and Participant acknowledges that any decision to travel without such coverage is Participant's own. Participant agrees that the Organizer is not responsible for any medical, evacuation, or other costs incurred by Participant in connection with the Retreat.

Retreat payments and deposits. A deposit of $500 holds Participant's place once Organizer has accepted Participant's application, whichever room is chosen, and nothing is owed before then. Half of the balance remaining after the deposit is due two months before departure and the other half one month before departure. Participant may instead pay the full amount at the time of booking, which stands in lieu of the deposit and reduces the total by $200, and that reduction is available at booking only. Participant acknowledges that all deposits and payments are non-refundable except in the event of cancellation of the Retreat by Organizer. In the event Participant cancels after submitting a deposit and/or payments, Organizer will refund Participant's payments if Organizer is able to replace Participant's spot with another qualified participant. Organizer does retain the right to cancel the Retreat and, if Organizer exercises this right, Organizer will refund all monies paid by Participant. In no event will Organizer be liable for any amounts beyond those paid by Participant, including for example, losses related to canceled flights or costs incurred during preparation.

Application. Participant understands that submission of this application does not reserve a place in the Retreat and creates no obligation to pay. A place is held only after Organizer accepts Participant and Participant's deposit is received. The terms of this agreement apply from the date of submission and continue to apply if Participant is accepted.

Media. Participant grants Organizer permission to use photographs and video in which Participant appears, taken outside of ceremony, for documentation and promotional purposes, unless Participant notifies Organizer in writing that permission is withheld. No recording of any kind takes place during ceremony.

Governing Law. This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Arizona, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law provisions thereof.

Entire Agreement. This agreement constitutes the entire agreement between Participant and the Organizer and supersedes all prior negotiations, understandings, and agreements between the parties with respect to the subject matter hereof.

By typing my full legal name below and sending this application, I certify that I have read this Retreat Release and Agreement, fully understand its terms, understand that I am giving up substantial rights by doing so, and have done so freely and without any inducement or assurance of any nature, and intend it to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law, and agreement to all other terms and conditions.

Your information. What you tell us is given voluntarily and held in confidence. It is read by the people running the program and used to decide whether this is safe and suitable for you. None of it is HIPAA health information and Huachuma Works LLC is not a HIPAA covered entity. We still hold it to that standard. Ask us to delete it at any time and we will.

The mailing list. Sending this adds you to our list, so that we can tell you what Huachuma Works and the Foundation are doing. Every email has a link to unsubscribe, and leaving the list changes nothing about your application.
